Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy
Our commitment
ProMedical Personnel Ltd (“ProMedical”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to conducting business with honesty, integrity, and transparency. We have a zero tolerance approach to bribery and corruption in all forms.
We comply with the UK Bribery Act 2010, which makes it a criminal offence to:
- Offer, promise, or give a bribe.
- Request, agree to receive, or accept a bribe.
- Bribe a foreign public official.
- Fail to prevent bribery within an organisation.
What is bribery and corruption?
- Bribery: Offering, promising, giving, requesting, or accepting something of value to influence someone’s actions in a way that is dishonest, improper, or a breach of trust.
- Corruption: Any abuse of entrusted power for private gain, which may include bribery but also covers other improper conduct.
Bribes can include:
- Cash payments.
- Gifts, hospitality, or entertainment.
- Favours, services, or job offers.
Our policy
We will not:
- Offer, give, solicit, or accept any bribe or corrupt inducement, whether in cash or any other form.
- Engage in any “quid pro quo” or reciprocal arrangements that could be considered improper.
- Permit excessive or inappropriate gifts, hospitality, or entertainment intended to influence decisions.
- Allow any employee or third party acting on our behalf to engage in bribery or corrupt practices.
Gifts and hospitality
Gifts and hospitality may only be offered or accepted where they are:
- Reasonable and proportionate.
- For legitimate business purposes.
- Not intended to influence a decision or gain an unfair advantage.
All such offers must be recorded in accordance with our internal procedures.
Record keeping
We maintain accurate and transparent records to prevent and detect bribery or corruption. Any suspected manipulation of records is treated as a serious breach of policy.
Reporting concerns
All employees, workers, and third parties are responsible for preventing, detecting, and reporting bribery or corruption.
If you have a concern or suspicion:
- Report it immediately to your line manager or the Chief Executive Officer.
- You may also raise concerns under our Whistleblowing Policy without fear of reprisal.
Consequences of breach
Breaching this policy is a serious offence and may result in:
- Disciplinary action, including dismissal.
- Termination of contracts with third parties.
- Reporting to the police or relevant authorities.
Under the UK Bribery Act, individuals can face up to 10 years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine. Organisations can also be fined without limit.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or from time to time if required by legislative or organisational changes.
