The Trust has engaged ProMedical over a number of years to supply medical and nursing staff in support of its services.

Working in a fast-paced NHS environment, we regularly face challenges that can disrupt our service, including sickness, vacancies and locum cancellations. These can require us to find cover at very short notice to maintain a 24-hour service.

I have been working with ProMedical for the past few months and have been very impressed with the service. The team has been proactive in updating me on shifts, sending relevant CVs and letting me know when further information is needed so I can advise the approving consultant.

Of 49 night shifts, ProMedical filled 35. Four were filled internally and ten by a locum we have used for years. ProMedical also filled 24 of 41 long-day shifts, including some at very short notice. This support has made a significant difference to my workload.

When a regular locum withdrew from a 26 December night shift, I contacted ProMedical for urgent help. Within three hours, the team had suggested a possible swap and found a doctor willing to cover. I was kept updated throughout. I have learned that I can rely on ProMedical to respond quickly, keep working on a vacancy and contact doctors directly to find cover.
